Activites at Home

1) Make your own play dough:

1 c. flour

1/2 c. salt

3 tbsp. oil

1 sm. pkg. Kool Aid (any color)

Combine flour, salt, oil and Kool-Aid. Add 1 cup boiling water. Stir together. Knead mixture until it forms a soft dough. This play dough will keep indefinitely if kept sealed when not in use. I keep mine in a baggie in the refrigerator at home.
*You could also add 1 tsp. tartar (which is to keep it fresher longer)--NOTE: Play dough holds in germs...sanitize before and after each use.

2) Make more play dough:

1 cup flour

½ cup salt

2 tsp cream of tartar

1 cup water

1 Tbsp cooking oil

1-3,1/2 oz. pkg unsweetened jello

Mix all ingredients together in a medium sized saucepan and cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until consistency of mashed potatoes. Let cool and knead with floured hands until dry. Allow the dough to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container or plastic bag. (I haven't noticed a difference in play dough if I don't use cream of tartar. I think it's for longer shelf-life. Again--remember to sanitize when using play dough.)

3) Make your own bubbles:
6 c. water

4 c. of liquid detergent

1 c. corn syrup

Combine all ingredients in a big container and allow it to sit for at least 6 hours.
